 Practice: Ron Swain is the senior lawyer at Staples & Swain. He joined Joseph L. Staples QC in Partnership in 1978. Prior to that, Ron practiced law with the Lindsay firm of Fulton, McQuarrie, Hill, Walden and Chester.

 

Practice: Ron has over forty years of legal experience representing his clients’ real estate, estate planning and administration and corporate/commercial needs.  His experience includes acting for local municipalities, public authorities, community service groups and charitable organizations.  

In real estate matters Ron has assisted property owners, land developers, and lenders in the acquisition, development, servicing and sale of properties in Kawartha Lakes.  

In his corporate/commercial practice, Ron provides advice to local businesses, partnerships and corporations on matters requiring both immediate action and long-term planning, including the negotiation, structuring and restructuring of business transactions and employment relations.  

                        A significant portion of Ron’s practice is also devoted to estate planning and administration matters, including drafting wills, trust agreements and powers of attorney, and advising and assisting estate Executors and Trustees in the administration of a deceased’s estate.

A lifelong resident of Kawartha Lakes, Ron and his wife Barbara, a local real estate agent, own and operate the 145 acres Swain Family Farm near Valentia, where they raise limousin beef cattle. They are the proud parents of 2 children, Shay and Sarah, and 5 grandchildren, Liam, Erin, Fiona, Jeremiah and Izabella.
