Born and raised in the Lindsay area, Heather Richardson (nee McCrae) joined Staples & Swain as an associate, following the completion of her articles with a downtown Toronto law firm. Heather joined the partnership of Staples & Swain Professional Corporation in the spring of 2009.

 Practice: Heather is currently building a practice which focuses on providing reliable service relating to corporate/commercial and business law issues, estate planning and administration, real estate transactions and municipal law. She has experience in residential real estate transactions, drafting wills, trusts and powers of attorney, assisting executors and trustees in the administration of estates, corporate transactions, and advising municipalities in a variety of areas.

Heather has appeared for clients in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court and as a law student Heather regularly appeared before administrative tribunals to advocate on behalf of student clients charged with academic and code of conduct violations. She also spent a semester training with the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service, where she appeared before the Nova Scotia Provincial Court on behalf of the Crown Attorney’s Office at bail hearings, sentencings and conducted three trials.
